“Spicy, fine and mineral. It was a warm vintage in Coonawarra, aligned in some ways with the recent 2019 vintage. There is graphite and spice, charry fruit and brooding spice. There are also lovely leafy overtones here, and the wine is elegant and fine-boned. It is dark and moody but so fine, with a hint of black tea, chinotto and graphite. In terms of drinking the window, this is just peaking through the first frame. Feel free to start exploring the 2013s—they’re very close to being ready, and there is a long, long way to go yet.
