Royal Lochnagar 12 year old expression is an official named release in its own right. This is a Highland single malt that’s been aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It has a sweet and fruity character, with a woody finish.

Color: Bright gold
Aroma: Planed wood, light toffee, boat varnish. Linseed oil behind, even putty, and later a lychee-like acidity. A pleasant fresh woodiness, followed by warm sand
Taste: Very pleasant, an initial sweetness, more toffee. After a while, coffee with brown sugar
Finish: Dry, medium-length, with an attractive lingering sandalwood aftertaste
