Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon
The grapes for our Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon were sourced from Southern Monterey County in California’s Central Coast growing region. This Cabernet Sauvignon blends the craftsmanship of California winemaking with the Southern tradition of Bourbon Whiskey aging, resulting in an incredibly bold sensory expression. Deep, rich ruby in color, it opens with concentrated aromas of blackberry cobbler, ripe dark berries, graham cracker, brown sugar, vanilla, milk chocolate, and toasty oak with notes of coffee and smoke. Flavors of ripe blackberry cobbler, blueberry pie, praline, sweet vanilla custard, brown sugar, caramel, and mocha, with hints of coffee and smoke. Soft, chewy tannins and toasty oak round the wine out with a long, lush finish.

The Robert Mondavi Winery has been the cornerstone of the Napa Valley for four decades. Their wines run the gamut from value-driven, food-friendly wines in the Private Selection line to premium, well-established wines offered by the Reserve Line.
They craft this richly textured Cabernet Sauvignon with California grapes picked at the peak of ripeness in their coastal vineyards. Adding a twist to traditional barrel-aging, select lots of the blend are aged in a mix of new and used bourbon barrels. The new barrels give the wine its deep undertones of toasted oak. The used barrels – selected from a renowned Kentucky distillery – exude notes of vanilla and dried herbs, hinting at the fine bourbon that once graced these casks. The result is a bold, flavourful wine, unlike any other Cabernet.
