RAWSON’S RETREAT CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Rawson’s Retreat Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep red hues, spiced flavours and raspberries on the nose. Good fruit weight with cherries and oak flavours with a rich mid palate and a smooth tannin finish. Typical cabernet characteristics of mint and blackcurrant alongside the firm but fine tannin structure for which the variety is renowned. Well-matched to grilled and braised meats or pasta dishes.

Penfolds Rawson’s Retreat wines
Rawson’s Retreat wines present classic single-varietals and varietal blends in an approachable, fresh-flavoured style. Drawing on Penfolds extensive vineyard resources, the wines offer a first-rate quality and value guarantee, presenting the drinker with an affordable taste of everyday Australian wine at its best. Launched in 1995, Rawson’s Retreat is the introductory level for Penfolds wines. The name Rawson’s Retreat is an informal reference to the stone cottage built in 1845 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold at the famous Magill vineyard in Adelaide, where – with wife Mary and daughter Georgina – he had settled the year before and was to soon establish the Penfolds winery, which still operates today.
