SCA CHATEAU DE BELCIER, A Terroir of Great Traditions, One of the Oldest Wine Regions of Bordeaux. Located on a terroir of great traditions and in the extension of that of Saint Emilion: Côtes de Castillon, one of the oldest wine regions of Bordeaux. The 67 hectares, Merlot (the king of Saint Emilion), largely in the majority, but also Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Advised by Michel Rolland, the most famous oenologist in the world. Château de Belcier was built in the late eighteenth century, long owned by an old family from Bordeaux allied to Montaigne, was rebuilt in part by François de Belcier, cons revolutionary guillotined in 1794.
Pin de Belcier, Château de Belcier also produces in very limited quantities (5000 bottles) a very prestige cuvée.
Le Pin de Belcier is the Château de Belcier’s Special Reserve and is vinified as would be a great Saint Emilion Cru Classé. It wins prestigious awards and medals and is mentioned in the best guides on a regular basis. Powerful and complex nose, nice ripe fruit and noble wood, intense on the palate, well-structured but yet elegant. Potential and generosity. Chateau de Belcier is a 52 hectare estate and neighbours St Emilion. The grape varieties planted are 57% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Malbec and the average age of the vines is nearly 40 years.
