Dow’s Vintage Port 2007

“Amazing aromas of lilac, violet, crushed blueberry and mineral that turn to black pepper and spices follow through to a full-bodied, medium-sweet palate, with a long, chewy finish. Evolves to tar and asphalt. Really held back, yet powerful grip slaps you. This is mind-blowing in texture. The greatest Dow ever made. Best after 2022.” – 100/100, #14 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2010

Vintage Ports | Range | Dow’s

Dow’s Vintage Ports represent the pinnacle of our winemaking. Over two centuries, we have gained a reputation for making legendary Vintage Ports with our signature structure and dry finish. Classic Vintage Ports are only produced in ‘declared’ years of exceptional quality across all our vineyards – typically two or three times a decade. Quinta Vintage Ports are produced in non-declared years to highlight the outstanding quality of a particular estate.

Dow’s Vintage Ports are drawn from the companies’ finest vineyards; Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta de Senhora da Ribeira. Each property contributes to the Dow’s unique and distinctive style. When young, Dow’s Vintage Ports are purple-black, austere, complex and intensely concentrated, full-bodied and balanced with very fine peppery tannins.

Dow’s 2007 Vintage Port
A legendary vintage that produced “the greatest Dow ever made”, according to James Suckling of Wine Spectator, who awarded the 2007 Dow’s Vintage Port the perfect 100-point score. Tremendous concentration with flavours of plum, cassis and Dow’s dry spiciness. Bold and complex, this is a wine for the ages.

Tasting Notes
A tremendously concentrated and robust purple-blue wine. It has the typical Dow dry spiciness with very solid flavours of plums and cassis. The very ripe fruit gives it an amazingly complex finish combining liquorice flavours and bold tannins. A wine that with time will show its true breeding.
