Ben Nevis Distillery is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is nestled at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which has a summit elevation of 4’406 feet above sea level giving it’s malt a renowned name ‘the dew of Ben Nevis’ . This imposing mountain provides an impressive background to a traditional Scottish craft. The distillery was founded by ‘Long John’ Macdonald (no he was not a pirate) in 1825 and in 1848 in a cunning way of promotion presented a cask to Queen Victoria when she visited Fort William. They produce both malt and grain whiskies simultaneously due to installation in 1955 of a special still.

The Exceptional Single Cask series encompasses Provenance, Premier Barrel, Old Particular and Xtra Old Particular. This Xtra Old Particular was matured in a single Sherry Butt for 25 years.
