COCKBURN’S FINE TAWNY PORT
Cockburn’s Fine Tawny Port
Young, vibrant wines are expertly blended and oak aged for up to three years. Fine Tawny has a fruitiness of youth and a nuttiness from the casks, while the ageing makes it lighter in appearance than our ruby ports. A not-so-dark horse.
VARIETIES: Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional
REGION: Douro Valley, Portugal
AGEING: Aged for an average of 2 to 3 years in casks
GUARDING POTENTIAL: 10 years ±
SERVE: Serve at 10ºC – 12ºC
FITS TO: Perfect accompaniment to rich, creamier desserts like rice pudding as well as dried fruit and salted nuts, pairs brilliantly with after-lunch card games
MIXING: The ‘Tawny & Ginger’
Fill a tall glass with ice and add 70ml of Cockburn’s Tawny. Top up with 140ml Ginger Beer, splash in a few drops of Angostura Bitters and garnish with a couple of Blueberries, Raspberries, and a Sprig of Mint.
