Château Rieussec 2011

“Layers of complex botrytis give this wine an immensely aromatic character. It is sumptuous and generous, ripe and full-bodied. The essential acidity comes through the dry structure of botrytis and sweet honey. The fruit is only just beginning to show and the wine is obviously very young. Drink from 2022.” – 98/100, #Cellar Selection, Wine Enthusiast

1ᵉr Grand Cru Classé, Sauternes Appellation | Range | Château Rieussec 2011

Chateau Rieussec whites-classified Premier Cru in 1855- are renowned for the distinctive string character and very pronounced rich sweetness. The 2011 Chateau Rieussec is a blend of Semillion, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle.

The vintage displays lovely and already intense golden colour. The delicately wooded nose exudes honeysuckle and acacia flower. The generous and ample 2001 Chateau Rieussec combines syrup-like notes with freshness. Discreet fruit flavours bring superb balance to the whole. The finish offers length and persistence, enhanced with light hints of bitterness to release the flavours.
