Alira Concordia

The name Concordia was used by the Romans to designate the goddess of harmony in marriage. That’s why it was chosen for this elegant assemblage of Fetească Neagră and Cabernet Sauvignon, symbolizing those years when the two varieties reach maturity simultaneously.

Ruby, with purple reflexes. Red fruits, dominated by black cherries and blackberries, spices (vanilla, mint, coconut), notes of balsamic vinegar, sweet wood. The taste confirms the nose and is filled with notes of bitter cherries and raspberries but also black chocolate. The body is strong, powerful but round, with pleasing tannins.

VARIETIES: Fetească Neagră, Cabernet Sauvignon
REGION: ‎Dobrogea, Romania
AGEING: 50% of the wine was matured in new French oak barrels, while the other half was kept in barrels at the second pass, for 11 months
GUARDING POTENTIAL: up to 10 years
SERVE: Serve at 16 – 18ºC
PAIRING: Pair beautifully with red meat, minced meat or cheeses with personality and strong taste, such as gorgonzola. It fits perfectly the dishes served in a wine sauce, such as mignon fillet, or complements oven-cooked dishes.

Classic | Range | Alira

The Alira Collection represents an introduction to the essence of the place and brings together the wines created as a definition of each variety grown on the Aliman hills and vinified at Rasova.

The winery’s name is an acronym that comes from Aliman and Rasova localities, where the vineyards are located on an area of 80 hectares. The first grape vine cuttings were planted in 2006 and their first wine was Alira Merlot 2009, a wine that surprised by aroma and complexity. It was the first step in making a series of wine collections which actually educated the Romanian public towards refinement and consumption of premium wines.
