EL PRINCIPAL CALICANTO
El Principal Calicanto 2018
Full-bodied and elegant red wine blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance in Carmenère, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec sourced from the Maipo Alto. Look for rich dark fruit, wild herbs, menthol and spicy flavours long and supple on the palate. The wine was matured in neutral oak barrels. Wonderfully fruity with herbal and berry aromas combined with a spicy touch. Medium-bodied with fine and round tannins, a soft texture and good balance, incomparable to the often very fruit-driven wines from Chile.

Calicanto | Range | Viña El Principal
Since the first Calicanto harvest in 2007, this blend of red strains from Andetelmo Estate has been distinguished by its fresh and fruity character, with spicy notes and silky, polished tannins.
Calicanto was named in honor of the first bridge built over the Mapocho River between 1767 and 1782, in the city of Santiago. Over time, it incorporated various shops and premises on its sides, thus becoming one of the first trading centers for Chilean wine. Like this first bridge, Calicanto symbolizes the union between tradition and modernity, and our commitment to producing wines of the highest quality that express the soul of the Chilean terroir through the French vines planted in our vineyards.
