Bodegas Caro – Petit CARO

Impressive nose of strawberry, blackcurrant and delicate menthol fused with undertones of coffee bean spice. Juicy and vibrant on the palate complemented by ripe, velvety tannins that gives great focus and direction. Further red and black cherry core with added bramble fruit intermingle with a dash of black pepper spice. Superb finish. Muy bien!

Petit CARO shares the same style as it`s big brother CARO, combining Argentinian power and elegance thanks to the blend of 64% Malbec and 36% Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are sourced from selected plots of old vines in Lujan de Cuyo just outside Mendoza, as well as from Altamira further South. This is a juicy and vibrant wine from Nicolas Catena and Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite.

Bodegas Caro is a co-venture between Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and Nicolas Catena`s Argentinian winery. One of the top priorities for Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and the Catena family was to select the finest terroir to enhance the alliance between Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. The plots of vines come from within the Catena family’s own vineyards and are supplemented with grapes from other top vineyards in Mendoza, known for the high quality of their fruit, and in particular, old vine Malbec.
